We are a 5013 C nonprofit organization focused on helping make the world around us a better happier place. With the help of our volunteers, we make boxes full of toys and activities for children and siblings during hospital visits to brighten their day.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We will help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
I started Emily's Smile Boxes after my little brother suffered a massive bilateral stroke. Due to the severity of his illness my brother Jude spent many days in the hospital. At ten years old I found the hospitals to be very boring and upsetting. One night I asked my mother if I could start filling boxes full of toys and activities for children and their siblings in pediatric hospitals. I also asked if she could ship the boxes to children recovering at home. Then Emily's Smile Boxes was born!
Now tens of thousands of boxes later and with more than $200,000 raised my organization is still going strong! I hold functions throughout the year so volunteers can help put together hundreds of boxes. Those events are normally laced with treats and fun projects for all those that participate.
I have schools, churches, girl scout troops, boy scout troops, and more that hold their own Emily's Smile Box events. If you would like more information about holding your own Emily's Smile Box event please use the contact us section of this website. I'm also available to speak at events regarding the importance of community service and helping others. I have given successful speeches at local churches and schools.
Be sure to check out our event page to see whats up and coming for our organization!
On 4/9/2016 Emily lost her brother Jude after a brave fight against pneumonia. He was 7 years, 7 months, and 7 days old. Emily is determined to continue her good deeds in honor of her brother.
